The high turnout has forced the organizer to double four holes to be able to host all golfers.
Following a beautiful morning, the traditional San Miguel tournament was held in El Chaparral Golf Club, with a large participation of golfers.
As usual, the tournament was played over eighteen holes and in the Stableford modality, with two categories for men and one for women. In addition, there were awards for the nearest ball as well as an award for the longest drives for both ladies and gentlemen.
In the first category the results were more competitive since the handicap of each participant was high, and therefore had to play well and focus to get a good result.
As an example we have the winner, Lars Pettersen, who won first place with 38 points, followed by Jose Diaz from Malaga whom, despite having a bad day, could not have achieved a better result.
In the second category the results were higher as the winner, Antonio López, with a handicap of 23.8, filled out a scorecard with a whopping score of 45 points. Local players Harm Leeinders and Jorn Eide ranked second with 39 points each.
In the female category, which was pretty large this time, the winner was Anna Schulte, with a spectacular score of 48 points. It’s important to note that her handicap went from 33 to 21.5 after this tournament.
Maria Jesus Bielsa was ranked second with 39 points, and only one point higher than Cristina López.
Once the competition was over and before the award ceremony lunch, the players enjoyed refreshments on hole 10, provided by Cervezas San Miguel.
The next competition will be the IX Anniversary Club de Golf El Chaparral on Saturday August 15, and the registration price will be of 60 euros which will include a shared buggy and lunch as well as more than 100 gifts for the draw at the end of the celebration.
