Despite the dreadful fires which were started in the vicinity on the eve of the event, and which affected large
parts of the surrounding area, the tournament managed to go ahead thanks to the dedicated work of the local firefighters who managed to douse the flames overnight.
Almost a hundred players competed in this individual stableford event, with many familiar faces vying for the top positions.
Amirreza Zarei was well to the fore in the top category, winning with a fantastic score of 43 points, eight points ahead of his nearest rival.
The second category was more disputed with Soren Petersen and Pepe Moreno with 40 points tied for the first position. In the ladies category there was no doubt:
Carmen Dominguez signed her card with a magnificent 39 points, second place went to Els Bakker 30.
As is the tradition in this event, some cool beers and snacks were available on the 10th tee to help competitors combat the hot conditions. After a morning of golf, all participants enjoyed the prize giving lunch held in our clubhouse.
