Fair La Cala de Mijas 2019<\/h1>\n

For those who like local festivities, Costa del Sol has countless events during the summer months. One of them is the fair of La Cala de Mijas, celebrated in the small fishing village of La Cala, just 2 minutes drive from Chaparral Golf Club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

La Cala de Mijas is a town of 2,000 inhabitants belonging to the municipality of Mijas (M\u00e1laga). It was an agricultural and fishing area until the beginning of the tourist boom in the 1960\u00b4s. Along the promenade you find bars and restaurants, nice beach with a sea bed with a great biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Mijas is one of the largest municipalities on Costa del Sol and encompasses the popular white village Mijas in the mountains and La Cala de Mijas and Las Lagunas on the coast. Due to this particularity, a large number of festivities and events are celebrated in the three towns throughout the year, making it an ideal destination for your family vacation or golf holiday on Costa del Sol.<\/p>\n

The popular \u201cFeria de la Cala\u201d<\/strong> begins on Wednesday 24th of July and ends on Sunday 28. During six days of an extensive program of cultural, sports, musical and festive activities, you can enjoy concerts, children\u2019s parties, costume contest, horse and carriage ride, flamenco singing contest and fishing contest on the beaches of La Cala.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe fair of La Cala has become a benchmark for the Summer program on the Costa del Sol, and that is why from the City Council we are committed to offer good quality concerts of different musical styles for our neighbours and visitors free of charge both at our fair during the day by the sea and at the fairgrounds at night\u201d.<\/p>\n

As a novelty and for the first time at the municipality’s festivities Tamar explains that the first day of the fair, between 7 pm and\u00a0 9 pm, the attractions will not play any loud music, so that all children can enjoy the fair without any acoustic damage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

First activity on the program is a parade \u201cCabalgata de Gigantes y Cabezudos\u201d that goes through the main streets of La Cala, accompanied by music bands, majorettes and the queen of the fair. Followed by the inauguration of the Exhibition Center, the lighting of the fair entrance and the inauguration of the Municipal booth. The closure of the six days of celebration and fun takes place on the 29th with a pyrotechnic show.<\/p>\n

\u201d We want the entire Cala core to feel involved in these much-awaited festivity\u201d, says Tamara Vera, from the city hall.<\/p>\n
