Andalusia, chosen ‘European golf destination of the year’ at the IAGTO 2017 Awards for its work to promote the sector.
Andalusia has been chosen as the ‘European golf destination of the year’ at the 2017 Awards Gala given by the International Association of Golf Operators (IAGTO). This award recognizes the work of the community in promoting and marketing the sector and its collaboration with specialized companies.
The IAGTO annually awards this prize among the nominated golf destinations and resorts that offer better experiences to their clients based on criteria related to customer satisfaction, quality of the courses and accommodation, quality/price ratio, professional conduct of suppliers , support of the local tourism industry and availability of tees.
This award is the most evident proof of the “quality and excellence” that Andalusian golf offers. In addition, Andalusia also stands out for the attractive and diverse offer that adapts to virtually all tastes and interests of the visitor, being one of the most complete and competitive destinations in the world.
As far as golf is concerned, Andalusia is currently one of the main destinations in continental Europe for golf tourism. With more than a hundred courses spread all over the territory, it is the national leader in facilities, being one of the most impactful characteristics for the tourism industry in the community.
