History

Chaparral Golf Club was initially built in 1991 by the renowned golf course architect Pepe Gancedo from Malaga.

Chaparral Golf Club was initially built in 1991 by a Spanish and British consortium. They had a great vision of the future by entrusting the design of this course to the renowned Malagueño golf course architect Pepe Gancedo, who put all his wisdom into these demanding 18 holes.

In 2003, Antonio Rubio acquired the golf course and decided to once again involve Pepe Gancedo in its redesign and to enable a reopening of the course on February 28, 2006.

Mr. Gancedo knew how to maintain the charm of the original design while he redesigned all the tees and greens on the course, making Chaparral Golf Club one of the most prestigious golf courses in the area, known for its spectacular beauty and lush vegetation.

The architecture of the clubhouse is of typical Andalusian design, a beautiful hacienda with white walls and old wood, accompanied by stunning views of the forest and the Mediterranean Sea.

Since its reopening, Chaparral Golf Club has become one of the most emblematic golf courses in the Costa del Sol.”

The determination and tenacity of Mr. Antonio Rubio, a visionary businessman, whose ambition has always been to put Chaparral Golf Club on the map as one of the preferred golf courses in the Costa del Sol, has made Chaparral one of the most emblematic golf courses on the Costa del Sol, impregnating it with a unique personality.
