Mario Rueda receives the Gran Premio Cervezas San Miguel
El Chaparral Golf Club has hosted once again the yearly traditional Gran Premio Cervezas San Miguel, which is usually held in the month of July.
The ultimate winner was young golfer Mario Rueda of Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, who with a handicap of 12.9 achieved the extraordinary score of 43 points (-9), in a day. A day where the weather was the main protagonist – a gray sky, humidity of 84%, and temperature near 30 degrees, likely in the 10th hole, the sponsoring company Cervezas San Miguel offered the participants an aperitif with cold and refreshing beer that gave them strength to continue, so that they could face the second part with more courage and strength.
The participation, as usual in tournaments organised by El Chaparral Golf Club, was high, and with a large female presence.
The second classified of the 1st category, was player of Antequera Golf, Jose Antón Martinez with 41 points, followed by Jose Antonio Perez by only two points.
In 2nd category, José Ángel Yanez, was the winner with 37 points, an outstanding score after playing with a handicap of 20.2, followed with only one point difference by Steve Martin and Guillermo del Grosso.
In terms of female participation, the winner was local player Anna Shultse with 37 points, who in addition to winning in her category, was awarded the longest drive on the 13th hole, followed by Caron Hillier of Torrequebrada Golf by a difference of five points, and Maria E. Bielsa, seven.
After the appetizer offered by Cervezas San Miguel, the food was served in the clubhouse. Following the lunch, the event proceeded to the prize delivery, presented by the club director Domingo Gavira, including the traditional raffle of gifts closing the act.
The next competition will be held on August 5 with the XI Aniversario El Chaparral Golf Club tournament.
