On Saturday, November 27, one of our most beloved golf tournaments of the year was played at Chaparral Golf Club.
The event is organized every year together with the local golf society “La Bandera”, an association made up of a large number of golf-loving players from the coast. The day was a resounding success in terms of number of players, with more than 100 players, who enjoyed
fantastic playing conditions thanks to the spectacular weather we are experiencing on the Costa del Sol at the end of autumn and a great condition of the course.
Chaparral is pleased to have once again been able to meet the needs and expectations of all players on such an important date.
All participants enjoyed a warm welcome upon check-in for the tournament, as they were given a welcome pack for each player, to face the 18 holes designed by Pepe Gancedo, known as the Picasso of golf.
The XII “La Bandera” Tournament was played in the Individual Stableford modality, divided into two mixed categories limited by handicap, with a special prize for the best classified Lady. The good scores obtained by the best classified showed the high level of play developed by all the players.
On the 14th hole, a great VIP tent awaited the players where they could enjoy Iberian ham, cheese and fruit, as well as a spectacular stand with Cava sponsored by Juvé & Camps.
The tournament featured the traditional special prizes; “Nearest to Pin” and “Longest Drive” for both men and women. The prize for the “Closest to the Pin” in the men’s category was played on the iconic 18th hole, with wonderful views of the clubhouse, while the prize for the women’s category was played on the 14th hole with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The “Longest Drive” in both categories was played on the 13th hole, a par 5 with a generous fairway with the city of Mijas in the background.
