I Open Ping Golf Tour | Chaparral Golf Club.
On Saturday, July 17, one of the best golf tournaments of this summer was played in the jewel of the Costa del Sol; Chaparral Golf, located in Mijas Costa.
The tournament, organized by Chaparral Golf together with the team of the prestigious golf brand Ping, was a resounding success with both local and international players from the Costa del Sol.
Chaparral Golf Club appreciates the great success of the tournament. It was a spectacular day of golf that did not lack any detail. A wonderful day accompanied by the best possible summer weather, with hardly any wind and a splendid sun. This, together with the excellent playing conditions that the course presented, made the players enjoy a perfect day of golf.
All the players, after collecting their cards and welcome pack at the clubhouse, headed out onto the course to start their respective games with a shot gun start at 9am.
The I Open Ping Golf Tour was played in the Individual Stableford modality, with two categories by handicap and a special prize for the best classified lady.
The good results obtained showed the high level of play of all the players throughout the day.
All participants also enjoyed the VIP Gourmet tent, made on hole 14 with Iberian ham, cheese and a refreshing cold dry wine from Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Three challenges awaited the players on the 13th and 18th holes, with the Longest Drive on hole 13 for ladies and gentlemen, and the Closest to the Pin, mixed category, on hole 18th.

The top five classified in the first Handicap category went to David Hernández Sanz with points 43 in first place, Paul Cunningham in second place with points 43, third place Garry Orr with points 42, fourth place Javier Fernández Gil with 41 and finally in fifth place John Glen Revell with points 41.
In the second category, the winners of the first five prizes were: Carlos Suárez Rodriguez with points 43 in first place, in second place Jose Antonio Ruiz Rando with points 41, in third place Gregorio Luis Ezquerra with points 41, in fourth position Robert Gates with points 40 and in fifth place Rafael Quesada Jiménez with dots 40.
The most important prize of the day, scratch winner was Fernando Ramos Oliva with 45 points.
Chaparral Golf Clubsupports the feminien golf in the costa del sol and awarded the best ladie of the day with the membership, Congratulations Julia Gelma and welcome to the club.
In addition to the prizes for the best classified, a great draw was also held among all the participants, with items from Chaparral and PING.

The special award for the ball closest to the mixed flag went to Joe Trubshaw.
