Chaparral hosts the Costa del Sol Senior Tournament.
On July 11, 2020, Chaparral Golf Club (Mijas, Málaga) hosted the Senior Costa del Sol Tournament, organized by the Real Federación Andaluza de Golf .
More than a hundred players played the 18 holes of Chaparral Golf in Stableford handicap modality during the Costa del Sol Senior Tournament.
The competition is part of the Andalusia Senior Circuit that has resumed its activity after its interruption during the recent months. More than a hundred players played the 18 holes of Chaparral Golf in Stableford handicap modality, in three categories of gentlemen, two ladies and one over the age of 70.
Despite being in the middle of summer, the golf day was very pleasant thanks to the proximity of our course to the sea.

The participants enjoyed the good conditions of the course and the work of the entire team and organization.
Chaparral Golf Club´s service follows the “Safe Play”recommendations and guidelines at all times. Both the staff, the players and the organization followed the rules of the new protocol of the golf federation to guarantee the safety of all those present during the event.
The players started on consecutive tee times from 9.00, after receiving their welcome pack that contained a hygiene kit with a mask and hydroalcoholic gel along with a picnic bag to enjoy during the game.
After the game the participants enjoyed the lunch in the restaurant with tables for four and respecting the social distance. In the afternoon the prize giving ceremony was presented by Miguel Navarro Álvarez, general secretary and manager of the Real Federación Andaluza de Golf, Francisco Cervilla Rodríguez, president of the senior committee and Domingo Gavira, General Director of Chaparral Golf Club.
Naughton Niall was the winner in the first category of gentlemen with a result of 37 stableford points (-1), In the second category of gentlemen, James Greene, from Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf School, won 37 points (-1). Mariano Santa-Ana, with 34 points, was the best among the third category players.
In the first category of ladies won Antonia Silva (Real Club de Golf Guadalmina) with 34 points, while Lynn Fisher (Marbella Club Golf Resort) took the victory in the second category with 31 points.
Finally, Antonio Ortiz was the winning player in the category over 70 years with 35 points.
