On the Costa del Sol, Andalusia, there are a wide variety of activities to enjoy. Long days at the beach, gastronomic experiences, beach clubs, golf, hiking, kayaking or canyoning… everything is ready for you to leave the stress behind and book your days of relaxation and joy! Summer in Malaga

BEACHES

Malaga offers 161 km of coastline. Some of the most popular beaches are Malagueta beach located next to the port, near the city center of Malaga, Pedregalejo beach east of Malagueta, El Palo beach, a family beach located in the neighborhood of fishermen, Playa del Castillo in Fuengirola, Playa de Maro in Nerja and Playa de Puerto Banús and Playa de Cabopino in Marbella.

The warm sand, blue sky and balinese beds along with the open sea and the gentle sound of the waves crashing against the seashore will definitely soothe your senses.

For those seeking adventure, they can kitesurf in Torremolinos, navigate Fuengirola bay on a jet ski or rent a sailboat in Benalmádena. There are up to 11 marinas on the Costa del Sol to choose from.

Along the beaches, you will find restaurants called Chiringuitos, where you can eat fish and seafood dishes. In Malaga. We highly recommend the local specialty grilled sardines (“espetos de sardinas”) in any of the Chiringuitos in Fuengirola.

Along the promenades by the sea you can find boutiques with clothing, beach equipment, souvenirs and much more.

CULTURAL VISIT

Combine your vacation with some cultural visits. Andalusian cities have a fascinating cultural aspect. Malaga capital has become one of the most important cultural cities in Europe. The city offers 37 museums, most of them concentrated in the historic center. Some recommendations: CAC Málaga (contemporary art), Carmen Thyssen Museum (Part of the Thyssen art collection with a focus on 19th century Spanish art), Jorge Rando Museum (Paintings by modern artist Jorge Rando, originally from Malaga, in the expressionist style ), Picasso Foundation / Picasso’s Birthplace (several rooms that show Picasso’s house as it was when he was born here), Picasso Museum (a collection of Picasso’s work throughout his life) and Center Pompidou (avant-garde art: paintings, sculptures and representations)

SOHO

This is the new and modern neighborhood of Malaga, famous for its Street art. The revitalization project of the neglected Soho was a public initiative, the MAUS project (Málaga Numerous artistic events, exhibitions and concerts have brought this neighborhood back to life. Take a stroll through Soho and enjoy a live art gallery in the streets.

 

WHITE VILLAGES

And, of course, you cannot leave Andalusia without paying at least one visit to one of the well-known andalusian white villages. Some of the most beautiful are Ronda, Mijas Pueblo, Casares or the historic centers of Marbella and Estepona. Enjoy a day strolling through narrow streets adorned with flowers, some tapas in the sun on one of the terraces of any of these traditional Andalusian jewels.
