Valentíne´s Day Tournament 2022 | Chaparral Golf Club.
On Saturday, February 12, the most romantic golf tournament of the year was played on the course designed by Pepe Gancedo, Chaparral Golf, located in Mijas Costa.
This event, promoted by the Chaparral Golf team, was a resounding success with the participation of local and international players from the Costa del Sol and was organised under the theme of Valentine’s Day.
Chaparral Golf Club is very pleased with the success achieved, as it was a spectacular day of golf in which no detail was overlooked. A splendid day of golf with hardly any wind.
The players, after collecting their scorecards and welcome packs at check-in at the Club House, were escorted to start the game with a shotgun start at 9am. The Valentine’s Tournament was played in Betterball Stableford modality, in one mixed category.
The good results obtained demonstrated the high level of play developed by all the players throughout the day. In addition, all the participants were able to enjoy a well-deserved rest on their round, with a VIP tent at hole 7, where they could taste Iberian ham, cheese and a refreshing manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

The three best classified pairs in the Stableford category were Joaquín Sarria Toro and José Luis Sarria Beltrán with 47 points in first place, José Félix García and José Manuel González with 43 points in second place and Tomás Lara Ponce and Valeria Saldaño Vicente with 43 points in third place . The winning couple in Scratch category was Sebastián Pérez Cuevas and Julio Garrido Montijano with a great result of 41 points.
The winners of the special prizes for “Nearest to the Pin” were Els Bakker and Julio Garrido Montijano, being the players who showed the most precision from the tee of holes 2 and 18. We want to make a special mention and congratulate David Garrido, for his spectacular “Hole in One” on the 16th hole, a par 3 of 98 metres. What an achievement!
In addition to the prizes distributed among all the winners, a great raffle was held among all the participants after the closing cocktail at the Chaparral Restaurant, The Green Label.
